Here’s the link to the doodle poll. Please fill this out before Monday 4 April as selectors will use this as a guide to numbers turning up to trial.

2016 Pre-Season Training Update

Hi everyone,

Update – coaching sessions are starting this coming Monday, February 29, 7.30-9pm, and will run for 4 Mondays (this gets us finished before the Easter break). Cost and other details as previously advertised below.

Please register your interest by Sunday Feb 28 at zn.gro.ogatonotnimdabnull@reciffo-ved rather than just turning up on the night, so we can book the appropriate number of courts.

2016 Pre-Season Training

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a great summer and managed to get a bit of baddy in.

There is a pre-season coaching block being organised.

Where: Angus Badminton Hall, St Kilda
When: Mondays nights 7.30-9pm. Starting either Mon 29 Feb or Mon 7 March (depends on how many responses we get in time).
How long for: A block of 4 consecutive Mondays
Cost: $50 for 4 sessions, no option of part payment. $50 payment up front at first session.
Who is coaching: Andy King
Who can come: Any player of a B grade interclub ability and above.

Cost covers court lights, good quality new shuttles and coaching.

This is a pre-season training to dust off the summer cobwebs and get back into things, it is not a prerequisite for rep team selection and participation in it does not influence Otago rep team selection. Details on Otago rep team trials, selection, playing dates and costs for the year are being finalised and information will be provided in due course.

Please email zn.gro.ogatonotnimdabnull@reciffo-ved to register your interest and indicate if you have preference for the 4 week course to start on Feb 29 or March 7.

Important update regrading Otago senior representative training and selection

There will now only be one more $10 Monday training session on Monday 13 April. This training session will be the final trial before Otago senior rep teams are selected, which will be announced in the days following Mon 13. From Monday 20th April onwards training will be for selected players only and free of charge.

Please indicate before Monday 13 your availability for selection by completing this doodle poll – http://doodle.com/3mmk4x96xh7t6fy6

A reminder that Monday trainings and the two team ties are important times to be available. There will be some personal cost associated with the trips away – car pool share of petrol and one nights accommodation (per trip). The first May tie is likely in Dunedin, the second in Christchurch (draw still tbc by badminton NZ). Only Otago 1 will travel to Christchurch for Neill cup, and potentially play in the NZ Div 3 final (hosted in Dunedin if Otago are in it).

If you can not come to training on Mon 13 April but you want to be considered for selection it is important you either complete the doodle poll or email dev-officer@badmintonotago.org.nz to indicate this (some of you have already communicated this, thanks you don’t need to email again).
