The function held at Little India Restaurant was well attended with about 40 attendees including Charli Harrison, BNZ South Island Development Officer. A few fortunate ones won vouchers from the spot quizzes.
Nathan Pitcher, Chairman and Shirley Woodrow, President, gave away the top awards of Player and Rookie of the Year, Most Entertaining Game, Interclub badges to winners and runner-up teams and certificate of recognition to Senior Team Rep players.
The 2014 Top Awards were awarded to :
1. Player of the Year – Luke White
2. Rookie of the Year – Priyal Patel
3. Most Entertaining Game – Jake Dickson (vs Alfred Wong MS in Neill Cup)
A summary of the 2014 major achievements of the Otago teams are as follow:
- Otago 1 won the South Island Inter-Association Division 3 tournament and runners-up at the National level.
- Brooke Cup Winner (vs Southland – Combination of all age categories)
- Cadbury Cup Winner (vs Southland – Age 40+)
- Runners-up Neill Cup (vs Canterbury and Southland – top teams)
- Otago 1 came in 2nd in South Island Inter-Association Masters
- Otago 1 was 2nd in South Island Inter-Association Veterans. Otago 2 wins Division 3 and was promoted to Division 2 in 2015.
